Changes in your life do not need to come with massive overhaul.
We all know the cultural mind games that are played every January.
I must have something about myself that needs to change. I must be better, I must do more.
Often enough these are totally unrealistic expectations we place upon ourselves. Improvement is not about huge life shifts or disruption, but more about tiny changes that when done constantly, can really help us to change our future.
Small changes are key to big outcomes.
So why an action plan and not a resolution?
As women, its more often than not true that we sacrifice ourselves to be there for others. God knows why but we do. I swear it’s an ingrained thing passed down through generations. We all really need to try and make it work for us a hell of a lot more!
Having an action plan is a great way to lay out your own personal goals, no matter how big and bold they may be and create a foolproof plan of attack to get them done.
Goals can be anything you want them to be. To read more, meditate, focus on study, spend more time with your family, become more health conscious or big things like starting your own business or buying your dream home.
No matter what the goal is, the process of mapping out a way forward is the same. Its a really simple process used the world over by all sorts of people.
It’s not rocket science. It’s habit.
Small, habitual changes are key to constant personal improvement.
Investing in yourself is imperative. You would have heard the saying you need to be cruel to be kind?
Well, you do.
You do need to be selfish and spend time on yourself and your own needs and wants to truly be the best and most pulled-together version of yourself you can, in order to adequately focus on other areas of your life, your family or your business.
This January, instead of unrealistic expectations, start mapping out a different (and way easier!) way forward for 2020.
Bring on 2020!
